Sunset on Lake Adair, near Kerouac House. I will miss this view so much!
Hi friends,
I’m back in Colorado now after seven weeks as writer-in-residence at Kerouac House in the College Park neighborhood of Orlando. Before I left, I had a nice chat with John King at The Drunken Odyssey: A Podcast about the Writing Life, recorded there at the house. Check it out HERE.
Heads up that the Kerouac Project is now taking applications and I can’t recommend this experience highly enough! They are wonderful people and there’s huge value in spending time alone with your work in such an inspiring setting.
“Our application season is here! Apply for a seven week writing residency at Jack Kerouac’s historic home in Orlando! $600 stipend. Fiction/ Creative Nonfiction/ Poetry/ Plays/ Scripts. Six writers chosen per year. Apply at Kerouacproject.org.”
A couple more announcements below, then a fun prompt for you to try!
UPCOMING WORKSHOP: Saturday, March 8th: The first in my newest series of live online 3-in-90 workshops and I’d love for you to join us! These are always very productive, generative writing sessions. Find more info and register HERE.
Freedom in Limits: Unlocking Creativity Through Constraints March 8th, 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Eastern, U.S.
“In this session, we’ll explore how writing within constraints can unleash your creativity. Using a series of carefully designed prompts that limit what you can do, you’ll discover how these boundaries paradoxically free your mind, forcing you to think outside the box and find new, innovative ways to tell your story. Expect to come away from this fun and fast-paced workshop with three exceptionally original drafts.”
Register for the entire three session series for best value ($60 each or $150 for all three).
ONLY TWO remaining spaces for this upcoming retreat in Grand Lake, Colorado, August 19th - 24th!
