In flash fiction, we have very few words to really develop our characters. That doesn’t mean character development should take a back seat, however. It does mean that we have to be all the more skilled in creating fully developed characters as succinctly as possible.
There are various ways to develop character, quickly and powerfully. But for today, let’s look at conveying our character’s inner world.
