Hello and Happy Eclipse Day, my friends,
I hope you’re doing well. I hope, if you’re in the path of totality or near it, you’ll get outside with eclipse glasses and experience the eclipse at its most wondrous and awe-inspiring. There is nothing quite like it. Here in Colorado, we’ll get a partial eclipse, which is still pretty cool.
Each Monday, I go to my list of drafted craft pieces and choose one to polish and send to you paid subscribers. Sometimes I just have a one-sentence idea to draw from. This morning, having not slept well (again), I’m going to just write to you from this groggy, half-asleep space and see how it goes. Those who advocate for writing before dawn swear by this sort of dreamy, free-floating state, when our brains are most open to unique associations and creativity, when the sharp, critical, perfectionist part of ourselves hasn’t had its coffee yet.
