Flash Gambits: Fun, Compelling, Risk-Taking Moves You Should Totally Try
Hi everyone!
How do you like the new look? We’re still tweaking a bit. I’m hugely grateful to extremely talented writer, poet, visual artist, web designer, Koss, for the new design. I love it.
First, I wanted to let you know I’ll be traveling a lot this summer! Much of my travel will be teaching related, so that’s where my time and energy will be most focused on. But rather than pause The Art of Flash Fiction, I’ve written and scheduled the July 1st and 8th newsletters for paid subscribers and the July 15th newsletter for everyone. Just know that I won’t be able to respond to comments much during that time, if at all.
Today, I’d like to introduce a new series of paid subscriber posts: Flash Gambits. These are various excellent and compelling moves great flash writers employ for you to try out in your own work. I like this term, as the word “gambit” implies a measure of boldness and risk-taking, something I encourage in all your writing.
